Mathematics is often challenging and always rewarding. It is one of the most international of disciplines, and is the basis on which the modern world is built.

Science and business depend on mathematical foundations and mathematicians therefore play an essential role in our society. Mathematics is both ancient and modern; you will examine the number theory that Pythagoras studied around 2,500 years ago as well as the financial mathematics that the highest flyers on Wall Street rely on.
